SOPHOMORE YEAR - Collect More Information

 Read about careers in the library

 Attend Career Fairs

 Talk with 5 professionals in interesting careers

 List short-term goals

 Apply for several summer internships

 Spend a typical day on the job with 2-3 different professionals in different      careers (job shadowing)

 

JUNIOR YEAR - Increase Experience

 Find internships or volunteer to work in the area of your interest

 List tentative decisions about career direction

 Read about career options in many areas (Directory of Occupations is a     good place to start)

 Become familiar with work settings & job descriptions

 

SENIOR YEAR - First Career Choice

Make an appointment with a Counselor to review the following: Job Search,     Interviewing, Resume Development, Mock Interviewing

List 5 life goals

Develop contact list

Interview for jobs

Attend Career Fairs

Write out a budget for first job
